Parent FAQ
Questions parents ask
What ages do you coach?
Boys and girls from 3 to 13. Lessons are pitched to each age group.
Where and when are lessons?
At your child's school, once a week for 30 minutes, during the school day. The school sets the day and time slot.
When are Soccer Days?
Once a term. Soccer Days are festival-style days where Strikers from different schools play together, and families are welcome to come and cheer.
My child has never played. Is that okay?
Absolutely. Our motto is "Basics to brilliance": complete beginners are welcome.
Is it for girls too?
Yes! Our lessons are for boys and girls aged 3–13, and everyone plays together in a fun, safe environment.
What will my child learn?
Each term follows a structured "Basics to brilliance" curriculum: ball control, dribbling, passing and shooting, plus coordination, teamwork, respect and confidence.
Who coaches the lessons?
Trained Soccer Strikers coaches, using lesson plans from our curriculum and guided by our founder, Jaen van der Walt.
Does my child need soccer boots?
No. Takkies are perfect for lessons on the school field. Just send comfortable sports clothes and a water bottle.
How do I register?
Register on the Soccer Strikers app at soccerstrikersapp.co.za. Lessons start once the R200 enrolment fee is paid.
How much does it cost?
R200 enrolment once a year, which includes a free Soccer Strikers T-shirt. Then choose how to pay: R450 a month for 8 consecutive months, R900 a quarter (4 payments), or R3,440 once for the year with a 10% discount and the enrolment fee included.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable sports clothes, takkies and a water bottle. Questions? WhatsApp us on 072 391 5698.
What if it rains or my child is absent?
Lessons are given by a trained facilitator at your child's school. No extra lessons or credits are given if your child is absent, if school activities clash with lesson times, or in bad weather such as cold or rain.
Who do I contact?
For any questions, contact the office on 072 391 5698 (call or WhatsApp) or info@soccerstrikers.co.za. In an emergency, contact our founder Jaen on 072 656 9267.
Can I come and watch?
Weekly lessons happen during school, but families are welcome at our termly Soccer Days.
My child's school doesn't have Soccer Strikers.
